The
Salon
With English wit, charm and a love of good conversation, owner Gill Hodgson has made Taboo into a place of personal warmth and satisfaction since 1986.
Now three decades later and still nestled amongst the chic boutiques and cafes of West 3rd Street, Taboo remains at the center of one of Los Angeles’s most stylish neighborhoods. The salon offers a bright, spacious environment in which everything is modern, from the furnishings to the most up-to-date cutting and coloring techniques. Its most recent addition is an inspiring retail environment stocking all sorts of desirable things that Gill has found on her travels, Instagram or clients have recommended: from makeup, skin care, perfume, beautiful scarves to greetings cards and ceramics.
Music is provided by our stylists’ playlists – an eclectic mix that’s often thanks to recommendations from our own clients. In fact, we pride ourselves on knowing that our clients travel the world and bring us the latest suggestions for everything from food and wine, fashion and design to share with us… over a cup of PG Tips tea, of course.
Poster Gallery
One of our most creative collaborations for the team is the window poster shoot. 4 to 6 times a year we create a stunning seasonal image. In case you didn’t catch it, the poster title is always a song lyric, of course!
