Summer Trifle!

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Summer Trifle! Some of you may have noticed the promo’s for Gordon Ramsey’s new cooking show Masterchef. Well yours truly tried out for the show with my famous Trifle. I didn’t make the cut (although they loved the Trifle), but I will share with you the summer version (just substitute pears and rubarb with a mixture of fresh berries) which will surely wow guests at your summer gatherings!

Jeffrey Saad

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

My good friend, Taboo client and realtor Jeffrey Saad made it to the final round of the Next Food Network Star (he so should have won!) which aired last week. Jeffrey has provided a recipe for our ever-popular recipe feature: Stir-Fried Sweet and Spicy Green Beans, a simple, tasty side dish sure to spice up those Labor Day barbecues. I am also extremely excited to be taking a cooking class from Jeffrey this weekend and I’ll keep you posted of any more up coming classes. Do be sure to check out his blog where Jeffrey is the master of introducing you to exciting new ingredients and simple cooking techniques.

Hollywood Bowl

Thursday, June 11th, 2009

Raphel Saadiq We’re sticking close to home this summer but one of the great things about staying in LA is that I won’t miss any of the great shows at the Hollywood Bowl. Of course I’m excited to see Raphael Saadiq, whose album might be my favorite of the year, and who could forget the return of Grace Jones. But I also love the Bowl because it combines two of my favorite passions:  live music and cooking. Half the fun is preparing a delicious picnic for our friends and picking out that oh-so-fabulous bottle of wine. One of my winning picnic recipes is Diane Worthington’s poached salmon with tomato basil vinaigrette, from her classic cookbook The Cuisine of California, published by Chronicle Books. Click here for the recipe and I’ll see you at the Bowl! Check out this summer’s schedule at hollywoodbowl.com
