Chefs, Inc.

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

As I’ve mentioned before, I’m an avid cook, and so are my daughters. To all you budding Julias out there, I highly recommend taking a class to hone your skills. We like Chefs, Inc., a great local culinary school. Chefs, Inc. especially caters to the younger set, offers a kids camp for those children you can’t keep out of the kitchen, and a beginning culinary program just for teens. There’s also a whole variety of classes for adults, from healthy cooking techniques to mastering knife skills. But once you get the kids enrolled you’ll never have to cook a meal again, right? 10955 West Pico Blvd., 310.470.2277

Jamie at Home Book Cover

Valentine’s Day is upon us and in lieu of a fancy restaurant reservation I’ll be hauling out my favorite cookbook Jamie at Home: Cook Your Way to the Good Life by my favorite Essex boy Jamie Oliver. As the companion book to his wildly popular Food Network show, Jamie at Home, it’s full of good, simple rustic home cooking. My favorite recipe is his grilled mushroom risotto, perfect for a night in with your sweetie. This year, I think I’ll top it all off with my staple berry crumble. Be sure to download my crumble recipe here!
